Description: I bet you didn't catch ALL the references that Curse of Michael Myers has to the original Halloween! After a long gap with no Halloween movies, Haddonfield's most persistent masked stalker would surface once again in The Curse of Michael Myers. In previous Halloween franchise Things You Missed™ episodes, Jimmy and I have taken time to point out all the references and easter eggs, especially those calling back to previous entries in the series. Halloween 6 may actually be the most derivative entry we've covered so far; it's loaded with nods to the original film, and it also has major connections to the 1980 psychological horror masterpiece: The Shining. In fact, it seems the main focus of this movie was to give a more psychological horror style take to this long standing slasher series. Halloween 6 is infamous for it's two alternate cuts -- there's the theatrical cut that most audiences are familiar with, and the unrated producer's cut, which is seemingly more popular with fans. For this video, I've decided to mostly stick with the producer's cut for my analysis, but there is one detail I'm planning on discussing that can only be seen in the theatrical cut. When discussing the complicated Halloween timeline, I like to think of it as "The Halloween Express". It's very much like a train map, you can get off at certain stops to take alternate routes. Curse of Michael Myers is the end of the line for the Halloween 1-6 route. Ultimately, the producer's cut and the theatrical cut are the same destination, you are just exiting the train on opposite platforms. #Halloween6 #HalloweenKills #CurseOfMichaelMyers Chapters 0:00 Evolution of the Myers House 0:50 The Halloween Express 1:46 The Fog References 2:14 Mrs. Blankenship Reference 2:32 The Smith's Grove Van 3:06 This Detail is REALLY Messed Up 3:54 Halloween's Connection To.... Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. Evil dies tonight. --About Things You Missed-- These videos point out some of the little details you may have missed in your favorite horror franchises as I analyze their meaning and why they are noteworthy. I'll breakdown every small detail, easter egg, reference, connection, motif, cameo, callback and homage that I can find! Typically, I'll cover Things You Missed in horror movies, and Things You Missed in horror film trailers.
