Description: 2 days in cold rain weather on a winter camping trip solo overnighter with a poncho and bivi bag - A poncho is a great rainproof garment and can make a quick emergency shelter if you get stuck in the forest on a day hike, can't do that with a rain jacket. It works good, keeping all rain away from me and my sleeping system. The rain drains well on this location and soil type, so the limited width of the shelter isn't a problem at all. In winter, I wouldn't use this shelter without a bivi bag unless I had to in a pinch.
