Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is very pleased to offer this Flame Red 1968 Chevrolet Camaro SS clone. This 1st generation Camaro may have started its life off as a base model 6 cylinder produced in the Norwood plant, but the addition of a nasty 355 C.I.D. full roller V/8 hiding under a raised scooped hood has most definitely changed all that. This Camaro screams Early American Muscle! Backed by the Muncie M21 4-speed manual transmission, the power is fed into its 12 bolt Posi Trak rear end that is fitted with 3.55 gearing, making for some truly spirited driving excitement. The Hooker headers, MSD ignition & coil set up, the Demon carb atop the Edelbrock aluminum intake, the Holley fuel pump and the chromed Chevrolet valve covers & air cleaner all paint the picture of exactly what this Camaro was built for, and that is to be a classic American hot rod. The black vinyl sport buckets surround the old school, white knobbed, Hurst 4-speed shifter that controls the Muncie M21 tranny, and the oversized Auto Meter Sport Comp tach mounted on the steering column & the under dash mounted Sun Pro oil pressure, temp & volt gauge cluster give the interior a super aggressive look as well. To complete the overall classic look, the full dish aluminum American Racing wheels was a great choice. We all remember this look from back in the early hot-rodding days & this Camaro is keeping those old memories alive for sure! This is a great example of an affordable, driver quality, 1st generation Camaro that should not be missed.
