Description: Buy Organic Seeds here! seedsnow.com/?rfsn=3708436.fd9650 We are going to attempt to forge a grape pruning billhook from wrought iron, sent to use kindly by Roy, from Christ Centered Ironworks. Case hardening is an old method for adding carbon to your tool or implements, to make them more wear resistant. Because of the hardenable surface you have created with this method you can have an outer shell that forms a protective layer. To replicate a tool like that has a lot of challenges. Some are easy to overcome others were way harder to recreate. That is what we will do in this video and we will finish the billhook in part two. I decided to drop the idea of case hardening the bill hook in the end due to the clay available to me not being suitable. It should be interesting to watch how we get around the case hardening method by adding yet another way to add carbon to the blade, that is not too dissimilar to case hardening. youtube.com/playlist?list=PLumdiZI5Q3f-csQ7zyXEiT_gmIhvcoVmi
