Description: In this tutorial, which is a first part in the series on game asset development, Eugene is going to show you how he would create a weapon concept sculpt. This sculpt is a base concept on which all the subsequent stages will be based, be it retopology or normal map projection. In the video he’ll use ZModeller brush to create the basic shape, but he’ll blend it with more traditional zbrush tools. You’ll be using IMM brushes to create detail and modified standard brush to get wood and leather textures. Finally you are going to use the surface noise tool, which will help you adding detail to the iron parts of the axe, which Eugene decided to make very worn out. You’ll be layering noise patterns one onto another to make the weapon feel on the brink of being trashed. Hope you enjoyed this tutorial Stay tuned for more!
