Description: The oldest actors still working in Hollywood! From a man who played God to a cowboy heartthrob. 7. Alan Alda This actor was born on January 28, 1936, making him eighty-four years old. His full name is Alphonso Joseph D’Abruzzo, and he’s originally from New York City. When he was a kid, he traveled with his parents throughout the United States because his father performed in burlesque theaters. Alda started acting in the 1950s in the improv comedy group called the Compass Players. He also performed on Broadway in The Owl and The Pussycat, for which he received a Tony Award nomination. Alda gained a lot of recognition when he was chosen to play Hawkeye Pierce in the television adaptation of MASH. He got twenty-one Emmy nominations and five wins for the role. Alda is also known for Everyone Says I Love You, The Four Seasons, and Crimes and Misdemeanors. Although this star was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2015, he’s still powering forward. He recently played Solomon Waltzer in The Good Fight and Dr. Arthur Amiot in Ray Donovan. 6. Donald Sutherland From 1970’s MASH to The Hunger Games franchise, Donald Sutherland has been in the business for decades, and he isn’t stopping any time soon. He is eighty-four years old and was born on July 17, 1935, in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. You probably wouldn’t guess it now, but this star had a lot of health issues as a child. He suffered hepatitis, rheumatic fever, and polio, an infection that results in muscle weakness. Luckily, Sutherland overcame all of these medical problems and is still going strong today. Starting in the 1960s, he began getting insignificant roles in British television and movies. It wasn’t until he played Vernon L. Pinkley in The Dirty Dozen in 1967 that he gained significant recognition. The movie was MGM’s highest-grossing, as well as the fifth highest-grossing film of all that year. Sutherland went on to win two Golden Globes for the 1995 made-for-TV movie Citizen X and the 2002 made-for-TV film Path to War. You probably know of at least one of Sutherland’s children as well - Kiefer, who is most widely known for the television action show 24. Donald has four other kids, including Rachel, Kiefer’s twin. This actor is still working in movies like 2019’s American Hangman.
