I blame the polyrhythms lol. I actually filmed and recorded this video a couple of months ago after the 'Troy Wright and Eric Moore Drum Shed' video (youtube.com/watch?v=BHb8iZvwJ5w) but after recording this I wasn't really vibing the song anymore. When I started mixing and editing this video however I was actually much happier with the way it turned out and pleased with how the polyrhythmic grooves sat over the chorus's and Kanye's vocal breakdown at 2:10 Once again playing over a song without "real drums" gives me the opportunity and freedom to play whatever I like. The aim here was to freely play whilst still keeping the vibe of the song created with what drums and samples already existed. Because this song is in a triplet feel (with subdivisions of 3) it was a perfect opportunity to explore grooves over a 3 against 4 polyrhythm feel. I had a lot of fun with this song and once again something a little different to my heavier covers here on youtube. Hope you dig as well. Thanks everyone!!
