Her owner was known for being a kind of loner. Dropsaw and her owner went everywhere together. They had a relationship like no other. She was his dog. Their home was isolated with no neighbors within shouting or even walking distance. When Dropsaw’s owner died of a sudden heart attack no one noticed. No one noticed for hours, for days, not even for weeks. Six weeks had passed before Dropsaw and her deceased owner were finally discovered. She was still lying by his side, licking his still body. She had lost a third of her body weight and was on the brink of starvation. According to authorities, Dropsaw drank the little water she could find inside the home, emptying the toilets, her water bowl, sinks, all the while returning to her owner’s side. When the community heard of Dropsaw's agonizing story, they rallied behind her -- offering to adopt her. Red Collar Rescue, a non-profit, located in Queensland, Australia took her in. Chris and her husband Bob, fostered her. She was given the time and care she needed to recover from her grief and the shock to her body. Eventually, she came out of her shell. Chris and Bob fell in love too - foster failing and adopting Dropsaw.
