Description: Harry Potter and The Forbidden Journey is a motion based dark ride attraction that opened at Universal’s Islands of Adventure on June 18th, 2010, Universal Studios Japan on July 15th, 2014, and Universal Studios Hollywood on April 7th, 2016. In this episode we explore the rise in the popularity of the Harry Potter books and films, Universal and Disney attempting to bring the franchise to their parks in the early 2000's, Universal finally securing the theme park rights in 2007, the construction of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and it's flagship attraction at Islands of Adventure, the ride and it's success, and the eventual construction of the same areas at both Universal Studios Japan and Universal Studios Hollywood.
