Cancun Underwater Museum Of Art When we say the museums on this list are unique, we mean it! Up next is an experience you can’t find on land. The Cancun Underwater Museum of Art, also known as MUSA, exists beneath the waters of Cancun and Isla Mujeres. Patrons may swim by 500 sculptures that sit on the seafloor. The galleries are submerged as far down as 9.8 to 19.6 feet or 3 to 6 meters below the surface of the water. British sculptor Jason deCaires Taylor created most of them, while the others were made by various Mexican artists. 3. Museum Of Broken Relationships This next place didn’t have just one permanent location. The Museum of Broken Relationships had temporary exhibitions in more than 50 locations. Some of those places included Tokyo, New York, and London. However, the main location began and can still be found in Zagreb, Croatia. Such a depressing-sounding idea came from the minds of two Croatian artists who used to be romantic partners. After their breakup, the two collected items from failed relationships not just between each other, from other past boyfriends and girlfriends. Many pieces that were displayed were donated by city residents. 2. Grounds For Sculpture American artist John Seward Johnson II founded Grounds For Sculpture in 1992. It can be found on 42 acres of land in Hamilton, New Jersey. The main reason Johnson wanted to start the museum was to educate the public about the art of sculpting and create an appreciation for this art form. Grounds For Sculpture is mostly set outdoors in a park. As of 2000, it became a nonprofit organization and is now open to the public. 1...
