Its upcoming entry, codenamed AC Infinity, will be a live service game. Not many details are known as of yet, its release date will be in 2024 at the earliest, but its concept seems to be inspired by games such as Fortnite and GTA V. Apparently it contains multiple settings with individual games / expansions releasing over time. Development studios Ubisoft Montreal and Ubisoft Quebec have merged to work on the massive project together. To many fans, the news has initially come as massively underwhelming, hoping to see the franchise return to its roots.
