Description: ORIGINAL VIDEO youtube.com/watch?v=TysAzE21USs&t=10s This is a new series where I'm looking back at my previous parody trailers, giving you guys some insight info, and helping to explain the creative process. I created this trailer early 2018. It was a relatively quick turnaround, taking me aproximately 4 weeks. I initially planned on using a voice artist to mimick the Forrest Gump voice and have him narrate the trailer. I put out an ad asking for impersonators but couldn't find anyone who pulled it off convincingly. In the end I rethought that idea and went with a traditional voiceover artist. The plot for this trailer closely follows the original film. I wanted it to be kind of a "recreation" of the first movie, except updated to 30 years later. A lot of the scenes in this video parody shots from the first film. The obvious ones being the "Run Forrest Run" scene (where I used a recent Tom Hanks shot), through to redubbing the "lose your pecker in the war" shot and syncing that with a different actress. I'm happy with the way this trailer turned out with the exception of the final scene. The "Woody" shot was just plain bad. I spent around two days trying to generate this shot and this was the best I could come up with. It involved removing the background, overlaying a still image to hide the letter in his hand, making in a new hand, placing the woody doll into the picture and then animating it a little so it didn't look like a still 2D image. Again, the final version sucks but it was the best I could do. If you enjoy this video then let me know. I'm going to keep running this series over the next couple weeks to help shed some light on the creative process. Thanks!
