Description: The pandemic few people know about. Emerald Ash Borer is spreading across the globe leaving a trail of dead ash trees in its wake. Ash is a very common wood used for many things, flooring, cabinetry, tool handles, but it's most unique and prominent usage is for baseball bats. As the supply of ash declines, wooden bats will have to be made of different species. There is some hope that some ash trees will survive, and the species won't go entirely extinct, but that remains to be seen. One thing is certain, for the near future, ash trees will no longer be a common tree in our forests.
