I am going to try and explain "why" America or Americans are this way. * Drinking game: take a shot every time I say United States * I wanted to say regarding the police brutality point: it is also not that common to see people fighting on the street in Germany (just like it is rare to see police fighting with civilians on the street in Germany). Aggressive physical approaches are not a norm (they still happen but it is not something you see often unless alcohol is involved) for German society. In the USA you could come into contact with people fighting in broad daylight (at the grocery store, at the pharmacy, at a clothing store, at the gas station etc etc) and it just be a normal thing. All that to say that in general society in the USA is a lot more physically aggressive compared to German society BUT that does not mean German society isn't aggressive- it is just a different approach than punching someone with your fist...
