Description: This project is a little outside the norm for me but it was a fun build. I had some extra sheets of aluminum in my shop so why not try make a longboard with it? Aluminum is fun metal to work with and you can etch a pattern on it by using a flap disc and a grinder. I used transparent blue paint for the color. There are links below for the supplies I used. You can cut more that just steel with a Plasma Cutter so I used it to cut the aluminum. The skateboard is 44 inches long and it did have some flex to it when I rode it. I think this aluminum would have been better for a penny board rather than a longboard due to the flex. I might make one of those too.
