Description: Families of killed Kashmiris are doing what they can to get their kin buried closer to home. In a conflict that has been going on for years, the bodies of Kashmiri militants are not being returned to their families: instead, they are buried in cemeteries far away from their homes. Indian authorities have stressed that these measures are in place to combat the COVID-19 pandemic as well as to protect the public from possible violent protests that sometimes occur during the burial of the militants. Meanwhile, some locals, claiming they have nothing to do with militants, say they are also having difficulties with the burial of their relatives.
