Description: My instagram : instagram.com/bayoona.a Filling : 1/2 cup sugar 1/4 cup cornstarch pinch salt 2 cups whole milk 4 egg yolks 2 tbsp butter 2 tsp vanilla (or choice of flavour) Sponge base : 3 eggs 6 tbsp flour 6 tbsp sugar 1 tsp baking powder lemon zest or 1 tsp vanilla Bake in a preheated oven 170C until lightly golden for about 10 mins, until toothpick comes out clean. Leave the cake to cool before adding the filling. Keep refrigerated until serving. You can add the filling of your choice, I like making it with instant custard instead of creme pastry, I add a little more custard powder than suggested on the packet to get a thick custard that will set once cooled.
