Description: A Mud Dauber Wasp nest was near our front door. I noticed some mud cells had opened up so I had a go at giving birth to a few wasps. It was fun and exciting to do. I also explain how wasps are amazing at nabbing spiders and using them to beed the wasp grub as it develops. I also have a little chat about Spider Tank 3 and some ongoing problems. A wasp is any insect of the narrow-waisted suborder Apocrita of the order Hymenoptera which is neither a bee nor an ant; this excludes the broad-waisted sawflies (Symphyta), which look somewhat like wasps but are in a separate suborder. The wasps do not constitute a clade, a complete natural group with a single ancestor, as their common ancestor is shared by bees and ants.
