Description: Assyria emerged as a loose collection of cities in northern Mesopotamia c. 2600 BCE. It was initially said to have been ruled by 'Kings who lived in tents' until c. 2000 BCE, followed by 'Kings who were ancestors' and 'Kings whoose eponyms are destroyed' until 1906 BCE.
