This talk examines the evidence from ancient DNA, isotopic analysis, geological identifications and other methods that have revolutionised our knowledge of the British Neolithic and of the builders of Stonehenge, from moving the bluestones from Wales to building the great complex of timber monuments at nearby Durrington Walls. Mike Parker Pearson is Professor of British Later Prehistory at UCL’s Institute of Archaeology in London. He is also a Fellow of the British Academy and was voted Archaeologist of the Year in 2010 for his research on Stonehenge.
