Obviously, the two girls are different from other teenagers. Born in the Philippines as craniopagus conjoined twins attached at the forehead, the girls were not given much to live. Now, they are a thriving pair of teenagers who are dreaming of being separated one day! Although a separation surgery would drastically improve their ability to move around and give them more freedom, the facial reconstruction seems to be an obstacle and above all, the surgery is highly risky. Doctors said that the girls shared a nerve that needs to be reconnected within seconds or one of them would die. When they were born, a local charity offered to pay for medical treatments of the girls but stopped helping in 2014 when doctors said that the operation could kill them. Despite the risk, Joy and Joyce appear to be determined to have that surgery done.
