Let's discuss Aaron Tveit, The Lightning Thief, and why this year's noms (or lack-thereof) feel almost mean 🌻🌻 OPEN ME 🌻🌻 Hey theatre friends! A few days ago, the 2020 Tony Award Nominations were officially announced. And boy were they....interesting! To start off, due to the #Broadway shutdown only 4 musicals were eligible for nomination: Jagged Little Pill, Moulin Rouge, Tina: The Tina Turner Musical, and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Yet, #TheLightningThief didn't receive a single nomination, including Best Leading Actor in a Musical. Therefore, the *only* actor nominated for that award was fan fave Aaron Tveit. You may know him from Next to Normal, Catch Me If You Can, Les Mis, Gossip Girl, and a new Hallmark movie that my mom is going to love. So does this mean he automatically wins? NOPE. Let's discuss!
