Description: In this episode I'm throwing the towel and relocating from a "bad" location to another forest. What looked like a risky move, turned into one of my most memorable relic hunts. The new place felt already detected (and "cleaned out"), but a dog license tag from 1909 gave me hope. After a few more targets and lots of skipped trash my psychic powers led me to a clean signal located next to a tree. I couldn't believe my eyes when a 1700s silver coin popped out of the ground! This was almost surreal, because my expectations were pretty low. I marked this spot, investigated the area around, followed the trace and found 9 other silver coins (10 & 20 Kreuzers). You might ask - how could someone lose that many coins? Well, maybe a horse rider (from Austria) dropped his "purse" late 1700s. Boars shuffled the ground over 300 years and voila, this is the result. Although the depth difference in compressed soil could also indicate other modifications (like a plow quite some time ago). Was there anything special about this location, like something historically important close by? No, at least not to my knowledge. How could a carpet of coins with relatively strong, clean signals make it until 2021, in what looked like a cleaned out area?
