Description: It's time to take 1BC over to TAS Aviation in Defiance, Ohio (DFI) to get her annual inspection. I had some icing concerns on this flight with the surface temperatures below freezing but knew the clouds were relatively thin, the air was warmer above them and I'd be on top for the majority of the flight. I was able to get a climb straight through them on departure from Aurora Tower and Chicago Approach Control, cruise on top in the clear skies above and left the flaps/gear up for a high-speed approach to minimize my time in them on arrival. Single pilot IFR is serious business! Stay tuned for some of the annual inspection process.
