Reports claim that Mazda has already confirmed the next-gen Miata will be electrified. The big question is whether it’ll be a full EV or a hybrid. The Miata has a fair amount of safety tech for an inexpensive, lightweight sports car, including standard low-speed automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitors, and lane-departure warning. Optionally, buyers can add adaptive LED headlights in the Grand Touring trim. We expect these simple safety features to remain the same in the 2022 Miata.
