Description: Table of Contents 0:13 Playing the Chord 0:24 Substitute for Dominants 1:02 Why the name? 2:24 Modulating 4:52 Chord motion 6:22 The dual identity 8:12 Summary Here's a chord (and voicing) I am very fond of. It is a suspended chord which contains both the 2nd and 4th degrees of the scale, so it's a "mix" between sus2 and sus4 chords. (Ok, you got me, you can also think of it as a 9sus4 chord, but that makes it less exciting ... ;) ) The particular voicing of this chord I'll teach you in this video can be used for a lot of different things, including substitution, modulation and just good fun while transposing it across the keyboard. Hope you learn something interesting!
