Description: This video showcases the astonishing detail and resolution of the largest photo ever taken of New York City. At more than 80,000 megapixels, this image was captured using EarthCam’s new GigapixelCam X80. To zoom in and see the actual detail for yourself, take a look here: earthcam.net/projects/empirestatebuilding/gigapixelpanorama/2021 The 80 Gigapixel Panorama was captured from EarthCam’s GigapixelCam X80 mounted on top of the Empire State Building. It is the highest resolution image ever created of New York City. You’ll see Manhattan Bridge, almost 3 miles away in close-up. Even the Statue of Liberty - 5 miles away - and the MetLife Stadium/American dream more than 6 miles away can be seen in amazing detail! To create this image, the GigapixelCam X80 captured 3234 extreme close-up photos and stitched them together into one unified panoramic image over 80 gigapixels in size. It uses Sony’s 61 megapixel sensor as the core image capture device. When viewers digitally zoom in to examine the picture detail, the resolution is still exceptionally high, without the usual pixelation revealed in a standard digital photo. If the photo was printed, it would measure 272 New York hot dogs end-to-end (or 136 feet).
