Description: Geoffrey Meeks earned $327,497.46 in 2019 as a police sergeant for the city of Inglewood. After a little Tom Zebra training he earned himself a raise and promotion to his current status as a lieutenant. Still, in his current position, he is powerless to do anything when his subordinates break my camera or a young ladies face on the street. At least that is the story as he tells it. Their solution to the problem of transparency in Inglewood is to always keep their location off of the radio in hopes I do not show up to record their interactions with the public. Maybe the public doesn't mind paying the chief over 600K a year for FAILING to do what I do for free. Maybe the public is okay with paying Meeks close to 400K a year knowing he would never discipline one of his officers for attacking a person on the street. But would the public be okay with the city preventing me, the only person who is willing to provide transparency, from doing it? Put differently I provide a service for free that the Inglewood Police department is required to do by law but refuses to. If they had it their way they would arrest me for 1st amendment protected activities...again. It gets worse. More to come.
