I’m Sarah, and today, we’re going to talk about rhinos. Today, I read a very sad news story
look! This is Sudan, he was the last Northern white rhino It makes me so sad
Did you know that Rhinos don’t have natural predators? These animals are so strong, no other animal is able to hunt them! But sadly, this doesn’t mean that they are safe. But, do you know why they are endangered? Well they are in danger of extinction, because they are hunted for their horns. Some countries, like china, use rhino’s horns, to make traditional medicines. They believe that their horns have properties that are almost magical! But it isn’t true! Poaching, or illegal hunting, is extinguishing rhinos, now, there are only 1400 in the wild, and sadly, this number is decreasing. Rhinos, only live in the wild in Africa and Asia. But, over time, they have had less and less places to live. Humans are inhabiting many areas of rhyno’s natural habitats, making it more and more difficult for them to find water and food to survive. Poor rhynos! As i’ve already told you, Sudan the Rhino has died in Kenya, and there are only two of this subspecies left! Only two! And both of them are females, Sudan’s daughter and granddaughter. There are no more males of this subspecies in the whole planet. I hope that this never ever happens with any other animal. And i’m asking all adults, please please start reacting. So that when children grow up, we can all live in a cleaner and happier planet, where all animals have protected areas so they can live in peace. Goodbye Happy Friends, see you next time. I hope you’re always ready to learn! Byee!
