Description: A police car chase along the rural edges of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, ended with a wild crash on Friday (December 7) after the vehicle in pursuit became airborne and slammed into a large electrical pole. Police had attempted to pull over the vehicle around 10:30 am local time but that the driver refused to stop. Police pursued the car in a chase that led them into neighboring townships at speeds that sometimes reached 100 miles per hour (160 kilometers). In Moore, a passenger jumped out of the moving car and surrendered to police. At some point, officers tried to end the chase with the use of 'stop sticks' which are meant to pierce and deflate car tires, but the car made a sudden turn and headed along a rural highway instead. That's when a patrol car attempted a PIT maneuver (Pursuit Intervention Technique) which is designed to bump the edge of a car in pursuit and cause it to turn abruptly and stop. Instead, the suspect's car went airborne after it was hit by the patrol car and rolled over several times before crashing violently into an electrical pole.
