Erzincan Yilmaz Tandir Evi- We started eating at a place that is famous for its Erzincan Turkish Breakfast. Full of rich honey, fresh cheese, cured meats, and crunchy lavash bread. The owner is a perfectionist going back to his village each year to make the ingredients his restaurant uses all year. This was one of my favorite restaurants in Istanbul. Feriköy, Gediz Sk. No:26, 34377 Şişli/İstanbul Next up, a quick stop to see how Lavash is made and Artichoke is made for whole sale. Damla Dondurma- Since it is winter time, we had to try Boza. I winter drink made from the fermentation of Millet. We then came back to try Salep, which I wasn't crazy about because it kept burning me. Maybe a user error. Feriköy, Kurtuluş Cd. 110/A, 34377 Şişli/İstanbul Mahir Lokantası- Gaziantep cuisine, one of the most world renowned cuisines in the world. This place specializes in Gaziantep cuisine, from Yuvalama, guvec, and more this place has you covered for an ultimate lunch time meal. Cumhuriyet, Tavukçu Fethi Sk. 28/B, 34380 Şişli/İstanbul Topik, originally an Armenian dish. This Topik here can only be found in the Istanbul-Armenian community. Really a deceiving dish as it has such a meat sensation to it, but this is a 100% vegetarian dish. You can also find this at many Mezze restaurants in Turkey. Bozkurt, 29, Ergenekon Cd., 34375 Şişli/İstanbul (Starts at 12pm) Marinee Kaburga- I couldn't say enough about this place, such a strong and confident woman making some of the most tender beef ribs you will ever have in your life. Bozkurt, Baruthane Cd. No:29/A, 34375 Şişli/İstanbul Göreme Muhallebicisi- Now for something I had heard about for a long time, but wasn't sure if we were going to be able to find it. This is an ancient dessert that spans from Turkey all the way to England. That is a milk pudding that has been made with chicken breast. The chicken isn't noticeable except for little strands of breast meat. Feriköy Mh, Kurtuluş Cd. 60/B, 34377 Şişli/İstanbul Adana Ocakbasi- Finally to finish off this marathon of food, a classic place. Come in here, sit by the fire, drink some raki, and enjoy a feast and a show.
