Description: Better late than never, as they say! I love to go all-out at the Christmas holiday season, and this project is an example of one of those all-out cookies that took on a life of its own! But it’s finally done, and I hope it serves as a special, albeit last-minute, Christmas gift to you. Everything on this 3-D cookie fireplace scene is edible, with the exception of the strings on the stockings, so it’s intended to be eaten, of course! But, if you’d like to put it on display, that’s fine too. It would make a charming centerpiece or focal point on any holiday side table. As the length of the video suggests, this fireplace scene is a marathon of a project. But the good news is: its many details can be made well in advance, and can also be applied to smaller, 2-D cookies if you haven’t the time to go all-out with this project. I’ve also broken the project into two videos. In this first part, we’ll focus on making the primary fireplace pieces and the assemby. In the second “companion” video, coming in a week, I’ll demo many of the edible details that make this scene so lifelike, such as the rugs, framed pictures, candelabra, fireplace screen, and Christmas tree. Happy holidays!
