The HDR video process is based on the ST-2084 cinema standard allowing content mastered at any level to be dynamically mapped to the optimum position on the projector’s PQ curve where the highest pixel level code values are matched to the luminance clip point of the video system, just as is done in Dolby Cinemas at their 32fL standard.
