She received her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Kansas, and has taught introductory biology and botany at the University of Hawai’i. At UC Davis, Dr. Gerhart-Barley studies the role of educational technology in large-enrollment STEM courses, with a focus on the impacts and perceptions of lecture capture technology.
