Description: Nagaenthran Dharmalingam is an intellectually-disabled man who received the death penalty for smuggling drugs into Singapore in 2010. His execution was supposed to take place last week on November 10 until it got postponed because he had tested positive for COVID. This case has sparked national and international debates about whether or not a death penalty is justifiable in this particular case, given his mental impairment. The High Court however ruled that despite his low IQ of 69, he was aware of his actions. How do ordinary Singaporeans feel about this case and the death penalty system in general? We hit the streets of Singapore to find out. The opinions expressed in this video are those of individual interviewees alone and do not reflect the views of ASIAN BOSS or the general Singaporean population.
