Description: listen. soundcloud.com/claire_michelle/411am saltwater memories merged with new sounds. ian, thank you for letting me borrow your lungs and recording this late night voice memo with me. i missed singing so much. im so happy to be open again. ricky, thank you for being paitent and gentle with my heart. for loving me + teaching me that technology is here to help us all heal together. this platform is so powerful. i want to use it for good. and thank you to jason for turning our voices into magic using logic + reason. thanks for being my brothers. i love you guys so much. long story short: i love you. long story long: i want to thank each and every single one of you who are here. the humans have believed in me since day one. since i was eating bowls of banana ice cream on my back porch, talking about how one day i wanted to live on an island. flash forward one year. i left home. booked a one way ticket to hawaii. lived in a little jungle shack and sold hand written post cards of a moon goddess painting just to make ends meet each month. fell so deeply in love with my own solitude that i nearly abandoned human connection entirely. honestly, i feel like it’s easier to get along with earth than people these days. especially when you are what i call, severely sensitive. the elements have heightened my sense of inner self reflection beyond anything else. mother nature is fluent in love. she understands me more than anyone has. but humans are important too. our existence is dependent upon each other. beneath the surface, we are all the same. living. breathing. becoming. and i am still learning to speak her language of love in human words. but along the way, i have made mistakes. countless ones. i have both hurt and healed others with my words. i still fall. but i will continue to rise. if there is anything i know for sure, it is that our imperfection is a catalyst for connection. my mind is messy, just like yours. i still forget that i’m a being of love sometimes, too. but i am doing my beat to remember more, every single day. for those of you who are still listening, thank you. i am learning to make peace with my past, while striving to be better every single day. to be more gentle and kind. to all creatures. including myself. i speak for the ones with the softest voices. i am so grateful to live this life. to inspire others through my art. everything i do is for the little girl inside of me who never gave up on her imagination. she is more alive than ever before. i will continue to walk the thin line between blind trust and unshaken faith. thank you for growing with me. for seeing me as you see yourself. this has been a wild ride so far...but the past 20 years was my warm up. what’s to come...who even knows.
